About Us

Meet Catherine Weiland and Drew Tieman, the husband and wife team and founders of Weiman Enterprise. The name Weiman Enterprise is a blending of Weiland and Tieman - a philosophy that runs deeper than just our name. We founded Weiman out of shared commitment for creating durable, reliable homes (Drew's expertise) and comfortable, beautiful homes (Catherine's expertise). This blending of talent is evident not only in our building projects, but also in our logo that emphasizes the word "WE." That's how we approach every project - as a team effort.

We founded Weiman Enterprise after moving to Portland from Newburyport, MA where Drew was working as a professional carpenter and Catherine was a stay-at-home mother to our two children, Emma and Oscar. Having children reinforced the importance of family, so we decided to leave the Boston area and its hour long commute in search of a more family-centric lifestyle. We found it in Portland, Maine.

Catherine
Catherine originally studied Finance and went on to earn her MBA with honors from Boston University. She has worked in the Travel and Information Technology industries as a marketing manager and business analyst. Her role as stay-at-home mom gave Catherine the opportunity to re-examine her interests. And she found that serving as Weiman Enterprise's designer fit not only her lifestyle but her natural talents. Catherine's accomplishments speak for themselves in both the form and function of Weiman Enterprise's properties.

Drew
The child of a professional electrician and educator, Drew was encouraged from an early age to learn about building. As a boy, he helped his father build a wood-stove-fueled central heating system. Following his interest in public policy, Drew attained a Masters degree with honors in Political Science from Indiana University and has worked for the state/commonwealth of Indiana and Massachusetts as a budget and policy analyst. Finding himself restless with "desk jobs," he turned to the more active career of professional carpentry. He has renovated numerous properties under the expert tutelage of a master carpenter and has an unsurpassed dedication to quality.
